Another great year at Agfest! The Forest Industries Site once again proved to be a flagship activity of the TFFPN—bringing our sector together to connect, build collective strength, and create a focal point to engage the public, share knowledge, and celebrate our work.

Over three days, thousands of visitors engaged with site sharers including Forico, Sustainable Timber Tasmania, Reliance Forest Fibre, Timberlink, ActivAcre, Indicium Dynamics, Forest Education Foundation, Australian Forest and Wood Innovations (AFWI), the Centre for Sustainable Architecture with Wood (CSAW), and the Forest Practices Authority.

There was plenty to learn, do and discover in the tent, including insights into forest fire management, growing trees on farms for carbon and multiple values, maximising wood recovery from trees for multiple value streams, how to grow a Christmas tree, how artificial intelligence is assisting forest management, and the importance of biodiversity in our forested landscapes.

Our well-attended Forest Industries Site breakfast was another highlight, bringing together TFFPN members, the public and members of state parliament. A big thank you to Hagley School Farm for catering a delicious breakfast.

A standout feature this year was the introduction of vibrant new signage and sector messaging. Developed by a sub-committee of the Agfest Working Group, the bold, eye-catching signage at the front of the site featured thought-provoking questions designed to draw visitors in.

The messaging highlighted the diversity of the forest industry—emphasising the role of people, research, and innovation, the wide range of products derived from native forests and plantations, and the critical services forestry provides in fire risk mitigation and active fire-fighting.

Thank you once again to our site sharers for joining us at Agfest and to the TFFPN Agfest Working Group for putting together another great year. Great ideas are already coming in for Agfest 2026.
