Network joins Reconciliation Tasmania

The TFFPN has recently joined as a member of the Reconciliation Tasmania community in an effort to better connect with a diverse range of people who are committed to truth, action and unity.

Pleasingly, the Tasmanian forest industry is continuing to engage with our Aboriginal community with some developing Reconciliation Action Plans.

The Network is proud to be one of the stakeholders in the Aboriginal Employment Pilot Program (AEPP) developed by Reconciliation Tasmania. The AEPP will involve Reconciliation Tasmanian working with three key stakeholder groups – First Tasmanian Jobseekers, Tasmanian employers and established labour market providers.

We are also committed to including the below Acknowledgment of Country through our communications and at our events.

The Tasmanian Forests & Forest Products Network (TFFPN) acknowledges the Palawa peoples’ connection with Country, and their active land management of the forests of lutrawita/Tasmania over thousands of generations. We acknowledge the Palawa and Pakana peoples, as the Traditional Owners and spiritual custodians of the land on which our sector operates, and we pay our respects to their leaders.
