On Thursday 19th November the Tasmanian Forest Industries Virtual Forum was held. The Network’s The biennial state-wide Forum is an important feature on the Network calendar and was adapted considerably this year due to Covid-19.

Over 100 attendees joined us live for the session, which looked at the theme Forests for the Future – Planni

ng for Tomorrow Today through a keynote speakers Morris Miselowski and Paul Heubner, and a Panel that looked at Priority Action Areas for the Tasmanian Forest Industry, which featured speakers Jillian Aylett Brown, Prof Rod Keenan, Jacquie Ray and Depha Miedecke. The forum was expertly moderated by TFFPN Board Member A/Pro

f Julianne O’Reilly – Wapstra. You can view the recording and handouts below.

Regional Dinners were held the same evening in Hobart, Launceston and Burnie and were attended by over 160 people. A great night was had catching up with industry peers, with all three dinners connected via technology to create a sense of one large industry gathering. Our dinner speaker Bill Lark provided a wonderful dose of inspiration and determination, and reminded us to be ‘Careful what you wish for, as it might just come true”.

Thank you to the speakers, sponsors and working group members, and also everyone who attended the Virtual Forum or Dinner – you all helped make them a success.
