FEF – Forest Competency Workshop Update
The Forest Education Foundation (FEF) is excited to announce that after a jam-packed workshop the Tasmanian Forest Competency Plan (a new name soon to come) is underway. With collaboration from experts across the industry and education sectors the workshop explored the Plans goals, structure and content.
Participants shared their vision for forest education in Tasmania and unpacked the knowledge, skills and dispositions forest literate students should achieve. The Tasmanian Forest Competency Plan’s purpose will be to provide a framework to support teachers to effectively integrate forest education in their programs and encourage consistency, accuracy and excellence in forest education in Tasmania. With the aim for Tasmanian students to understand, appreciate and make informed decisions about forests and forest resources, the Plan will be launched at the FEF’s Conference – The Stories Behind Our Trees on 31 October and 1 November.
Register to attend the conference to find out more about how you can support forest education in Tasmania and share your story behind our trees.
