Work commenced on Forest Industry Workforce Development  and Implementation Plan

The TFFPN Skills Working Group is very happy to advise that it has appointed RMCG to develop the Tasmanian  Forest Industry Workforce Development  and Implementation Plan.

The aim of the project is to work with existing resources, consult with stakeholders, the broader industry and education and training providers to develop The Plan to enable the development of a skilled, safe and diverse workforce and meet the current and future needs of the Tasmanian forest industry.

‘RMCG has extensive experience in Tasmania, working with a range of  relevant stakeholders and therefore understands the link between industry and regional workforce planning and business planning.’ said Jim Wilson, Chair of the Workforce Skills Working Group. ‘They understand the issues associated with attracting, retraining and training good people.’

The Plan will be led by RMCG consultants – Donna Lucas and Dr Doris Blaesing .

The project has commenced and  is expected to be concluded by June 2021.

The funding for the project was provided by TSDS funding through ForestWorks Ltd.  The Network is very grateful and acknowledges the support of ForestWorks in the development of The Plan

The Network Newsletter and website will keep you updated with progress regarding development of The Plan.  Also keep posted for consultations and workshop dates and venues.
